Beyonce named People Mag’s Most Beautiful Woman of 2012: great choice?

Call me crazy, but I don’t hate this choice! Beyonce has been named People Magazine’s “Most Beautiful Woman” for 2012. Previous winners include Julia Roberts, Angelina Jolie, and Jennifer Lopez (Most Beautiful in 2011). It’s interesting that People Mag is going back-to-back with women of color, a Latina woman in 2011 and now a African-American woman in 2012. It makes sense to choose Beyonce too – she’s become a mom, she’s trying to be more accessible, and she’s been much more in-our-faces over the past year. You can see People Mag’s whole “Most Beautiful” package here, here for the gallery, and here are some highlights from People’s cover profile:

She’s an entertainment force of nature, 16-time Grammy winner, and beauty and style icon. But Beyoncé is proudest of one title that also happens to be her most recent: mommy to little Blue Ivy Carter.

“I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” says PEOPLE’s 2012 World’s Most Beautiful Woman. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”

The “Crazy in Love” singer, 30, and her husband of four years, Jay-Z, 42, have gone gaga for Blue, born Jan. 7 in New York City. “She’s just the cutest thing,” gushes Beyoncé, who croons one-of-a-kind tunes to her daughter and professes to “love” changing diapers.

So who does her daughter most resemble? “She looks like Blue,” says Beyoncé, who is back to her pre-pregnancy weight and gearing up for her first post-baby concerts, Memorial Day weekend at the Revel Atlantic City. “She’s her own person.”

“The best thing about having a daughter is having a true legacy,” she adds. “The word ‘love’ means something completely different now.”

For more of Beyoncé’s exclusive interview – in which she shares her beauty secrets, reveals how she lost the baby weight and sets the record straight on all the rumors – pick up this week’s special issue of PEOPLE, on newsstands Friday.

[From People Magazine]

While I consider Beyonce to be an incredibly beautiful woman, I have my doubts as to whether she would have been named “Most Beautiful” if not for the whole “giving birth” and “bump shenanigans” stuff. This year’s list also includes Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Sofia Vergara and Mad Men’s Jessica Paré. Oh, and Lily Collins – you have to look at the photo they selected for Lily. It made me laugh a little. Oh, and Duchess Kate is on the list too! Duchess of Curls is one of the “most beautiful”? Sure.

  1. Sisi says:

she is a really beautiful woman, but that cover is BAD. What is up with that straw on her head… they should’ve styled a better cover. This cover does not feature the most beautiful woman.

  2. Marjalane says:

Bleh. Between the hideous clothes she wears and the whole fake pregnancy thing, (and no, you will NEVER convince me she gave birth) I’m not finding her remotely attractive.

Sofia Vergara, or even Charlize are better choices.

    • autumndaze says:

I am just over all of her PR shenanigans and general delusional demeanor.
I think it would be FANTASTIC if they would feature someone with values and integrity; someone with beauty on the inside first and foremost.

      • Tapioca says:

Maybe someone who wrote her own songs, perhaps? Did her own choreography? Acknowledged when she “paid tribute” to other artists? Someone with natural beauty? Someone who didn’t conduct herself like a stripper in her videos? Someone who wasn’t over-entitled enough to prevent a parent seeing their newborn child? Or maybe someone who didn’t try so hard to validate the misogyny of “thug” culture?

Oh, dear People magazine – every year you make more and more obvious that these covers are bought!

      • MST says:

I agree. I am so sick of this woman being in everything. I am not a fan of her or Joe Camel. She sounds like a dumbass when she talks and her so-called “singing” annoys me and makes my poor cats’ ears pin back flat on their skulls. And rolling around on the floor half-naked, holding a chain between her teeth like a dawg — c’mon, have some dignity.

I keep on hearing that she and Joe are members of the Illuminati, or Sold Their Souls To the Devil for Riches and Fame, and while I don’t believe in stuff like that, I just can’t understand the appeal.

      • Brigitte says:

Agree. And Tapioca, you go girl! ;0) Well said.

    • Raven says:

Considering the question about her pregnancy and her lightening her skin, what’s beautiful about her?

Just a Kardashian with more talent, IMO

    • bluhare says:

      What Marjalane said. Totally.

    • BabyCakes says:

She lost me a long time ago. Remember when it was all about Independent Women? Then it went to Can You Pay My Bills? BACK THEN I was like WTF?? Make up your mind chica.

      • Tiffany says:

Um…Bills, Bills, Bills came out a long time before Independent Women. BBB came out when Destiny’s Child had 4 memebers, IW was when they only had 3.

      • CV says:

You realize that Bills, Bills, Bills was about someone trying to get Beyonce and the rest of Destiny’s Child to pay their bills, not Beyonce trying to get money?

    • Dlsmith says:

I don’t understand why everyone thinks she wasn’t really pregnant. What about the photo of her pregnant in a bikini, with her belly out in the open? What about her huge post-baby boobs?

  3. Jennifer says:

How much do you have to pay to get that cover? J.Hoe? Fakeonce? Oh please!!! Put somebody new and fresh on the cover and not somebody who is around forever.

  4. Chatcat says:

Most beautiful in an outside superficial look. People has obviously not gone for “best looking” by the outside look and any type of morals or integrity. JLo 3 time divorcee and now cougar and Beyonce who, along with her husband trying to pull of the Bernie Madoff of birthing a child. That is why I cancelled my script to People about 5 years ago, no integrity no $$$$$ from me!

  5. amd says:

I don’t believe for one second she actually was pregnant and had that baby herself, Surrogate all the way. I wish she’d be honest with herself so she was worth an ounce of respect.

  6. DeltaJuliet says:

I always hate these “most beautiful” selections (or “sexiest man” or whatever) It seems to be more of a popularity contest, or who Hollywood happens to be pushing at the time.

Seriously, if you are truly the most beautiful woman in the world, would it only last one year, until the next edition comes out?

  7. Blah says:

The blond wig is awful. She should take her sister’s route and go natural.

  8. garvels says:

I don’t see it at all. She just has a good agent and PR firm that can buy the cover for her.

  9. Micki says:

Good God! She is a STYLE icon too…Really?

  10. MrsBarneyStinson says:

Beyonce is a much better choice than JLo, at least.

  11. Blue says:

    Julia Roberts? Seriously?
Anyway she looks like Zoe Saldana in that cover pic. And no if it weren’t for all her pregnancy shenanigans she wouldn’t have this title.

  12. lucy2 says:

They should rename those titles “World’s Best Publicist!” because that’s all they are.
I do think she is beautiful, but I generally dislike her styling.

  13. lisa says:

She is a great choice.. not sure if I like the cover.. I don’t buy People anymore. Well only for special covers. But not buying this.. I am glad they pick Beyonce. Nice to have a black woman recognized for her beauty. Some of their past covers of women have been totally off. Same with the Sexiest Man Alive. They have gotten that wrong for too many years to count.

    Good for Beyonce..

    • Kim says:

She hasnt had this before? Shes a fantastic choice. Definately a step above the “skeletor beauties” (side-eyeing Leann & Angelina) constantly being foisted upon us. This is a woman who doesnt run to the nearest lipo-surgeon at the hint of an extra 5 pounds. And best of all, men love her for it. You should see my husband when she appears on the telly!

      But haters will hate. *shrugs*

      • lisa says:

Not agreeing with you. When Angie made that cover it was well deserves. As with her inclusion in past ones

Why Angie has to be the example in every thread..
and yes.. Haters will hate BIG SHRUG

      • Lolalicious says:

Just for loving her curves, Beyonce gets a Mega-Pass from me. I cant think of a single man who would dispute this. Straight men see a coke bottle-shaped body, pretty face & confident attitude. And they likey very much!

Whereas most women need to hate other women to feel better about themselves (even when that means insensitively yapping on over a surrogacy that was most probably a medical necessity) but those are the breaks.

        Great Choice People!

      • JessieG says:

I think Kim was merely pointing at the highly visible women right now in the industry who are also generally perceived to be at an unnatural and unhealthy weight. Believe it or not Lisa, if you visit other sites you will find a good deal of the commentators rather disturbed at Jolies current state. You cant be too sensitive on a gossip site dear.

      • skipper says:

Nobody thinks Leann is a beauty except Leann. And I don’t think this is about who men think is beautiful. Men don’t really read People.

      • Emma says:

Yes, most commenters on other websites find her weight really thin/anorexic but they also find her extremely beautiful.

Shes’ been named most beautiful by Vanity Fair, Allure, Harper’s Bazaar, Who, etc.

Her body may not be tomb raider days but her face is still gorgeous. Even daily mail readers agree..check out the latest threads they ahve on her..the top rated comments are positive and glowing.

      • Gisele says:

No one would ever put the name LeAnn and beauty in the same sentence. Skeleton yes, but beauty no way. Angelina is beautiful facially but looks like you could snap her like a twig.

      • cameron says:

Angelina was very deserving of that cover 6 years ago. She was and still is a very beautiful woman, not just aesthetics.
Good for Beyonce making the cover, the first Black woman since Halle Berry 9 years ago.
I would have preferred Viola Davis but, she’s not going to sell magazines.
I agree, her sister Solange is more attractive and most definitely has a better style.

    • yo momma says:

@ lolalicious-perhaps because our culture continually tells women their only value is with their looks and tabloids pit women against each other even when there isnt any beef. you are a symptom of the disease, not helping.

    • Tiffany says:

I think agree, she is a great choice. She is a VERY beautiful woman. All of her Tumblr pictures show how pretty she is with very little make up on. Gorgeous.

  14. Saph says:

It’s amazing how money can make you more attractive. Fake hair, fake eyelashes, fake pregnancy nothing natural about Bouncie. You need to be good on the inside too and she is as fake and shallow as they come.

    • mel2 says:

My thought exactly, everything about her is so fake and on top of that she faked her pregnancy.

    • Paula says:

She is getting whiter & whiter looking. Big fake

    • Nessa says:

ITA. I think I would be smokin’ hot, too, if I had millions of dollars to assist. Nothing about Beyonce is real, including her birthing a child.

  15. CTgirl says:

Beyonce is OK but the most beautiful? Please! There are so many woman who are actually beautiful.

  16. Enny says:

It’s a well-known fact that these covers are sold to the highest bidder. The folks at People weren’t sitting around a conference table debating the relative beauty of various women. Beyonce wanted some positive press, this was a good way for her to get it and she cut a check. End of story.

    • EmmaStoneWannabe says:

Exactly. Just like JLo making the comeback last year..sign on with Idol, release new album, land the People’s Most Beautiful cover…it’s just a piece of the campaign. With that, I’m actually a little shocked Michelle Obama didn’t end up getting it this year! lol

  17. Gelina says:

    Congratulations! Great Choice!!!

  18. Bite me aka aniston says:

    Nice pix

  19. Neelyo says:

A hearty congratulations to Bey’s publicist! Someone earned their muffin basket today.

  20. deserving says:

    Beyonce deserves this. Finally!
She has tried very hard to meet the European beauty standard!
Fake blonde hair colour, madly straitening her hair straight, skin bleaching.^_^
    hahahaha and it’s sad.

  21. Sasha says:

Her dress is ridiculous! And I LOL’ed when he said “Blue looks like herself, she is her own person.”

    • Chatcat says:

“she looks like herself”…hahahahahah. Wonder when (if not already) somebody has snatched one of Blue’s dirty little diapers and is performing DNA testing on it to break the story with an ending we all already know! lol.

  22. EmmaStoneWannabe says:

Side note for Lily Collin’s pic they selected: W.T.F.?? That’s the worst effing thing I have ever seen on that website. I feel bad for her, she should sue.

    • Carrie says:

i thought Lily Collins’pic was gorgous:she looks so natural, her eyebrows are so beautiful, his hair….she’s my fav in the selection. It’s almost sad Lily is uninteresting as actress

    • Courtney says:

They are really pushing HARD for that girl to become a star. She’s beautiful no doubt, but geez.

  23. lisa says:

Funny years ago when these covers started to come out I don’t recall that much uproar of the person that got it. It seemed that the public usually agreed. I think as the PR game has gotten so out of hand. That celebs are promoting movies or other ventures through these titles the perception of it being REAL has been lost. We just see too many people getting fake titles and awards that don’t deserve them

I can’t recall the last time the public was excited for these covers. If you look back that may be the signal that things went off track.

  24. Courtney says:

oh please everything in hollywood goes to the highest bidder it always has. People magazine made a big mistake picking Beyonce as the most beautiful woman Joely Richardson would’ve fit better

  25. lucy2 says:

Gah, that Lily Collins photo is bad! The Christina Hendricks one is pretty, and Miranda Lambert should send People a gift basket for the photo they chose of her.

  26. Adrien says:

Bey’s ok, but the inset photo of Adele caught my eye.

  27. Minty says:

Puh-leeze! It’s whoever is on the pop culture radar right now and has the pushiest publicist who makes this list. There are people you never hear about who are not famous and who are more beautiful (like my co-worker and a few former college classmates). I’d take the list more seriously if it was based on a nationwide poll instead of the opinion of a few ass-kissing magazine editors working with PR people.

Will Samantha Brick be upset she wasn’t considered? LOL! Jennifer Aniston must be okay that she’s excluded this year since she’s the hottest woman of all time. *rolls eyes*

    • Minty says:

Oops, looks like Aniston is in this issue. No surprise, really. God forbid she should lay low when she doesn’t have a movie to promote. Sorry, Jen and Stephen Huvane, constantly repeating something ad nauseam (i.e. that you’re the most beautiful, hottest, blah blah blah ) won’t make it true. It doesn’t work that way. I’d like to see how beautiful some of these celebrities are without any makeup or Photoshop, because the non-famous people I mentioned in my first comment are beautiful in person without any spackle. Even Mila Kunis looked ordinary without makeup in yesterday’s post.

  28. mln76 says:

It’s nice to see a woman of color on the cover but personally I don’t find Beyonce beautiful she’s way too artificial and unnatural. She’s sort of like the Black Jen Aniston to me.

    • Camille (The original) says:

Speaking of Aniston, I had to LOL at her and the word ‘stunning’ together. They just don’t mix lol. That woman is not beautiful. Not with those close set eyes, bulgy nose and huge chin.
(JMO, and ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ and all that jazz..)

Adele should have been named ‘most beautiful’, and it would have been a more interesting choice than Beyonce IMO.

  29. fabgrrl says:

Beyonce has gone through pregnancy, birth, baby weight loss, and her “comeback”, and meanwhile, Jessica Simpson is STILL pregnant?!!?!

    • Carrie says:

i think Beyonce is really beautiful and even more beautiful without make-up (look her personal tumblr)

    • Carrie says:

Beyonce was yet very pregnant when she announced she was pregnant whereas Simpson looked yet pregnant before to be pregnant and she announced in her 2 first months

  30. Nanz says:

I think People made a great choice.

  31. LOL89 says:

Skin color in the black community is a sensitive subject and skin-bleaching is such a serious accusation to be tossing around.Beyonce always been a light skin girl ugh criticism for using wigs, etc… all your faves do it too but when she does it she is fake!

    • Leah says:

She bleaches. And so does her mother. You haven’t seen the color brown on either one of them since 2007, have you?

  32. Annaloo says:

Beyonce is SO overrated!! I agree with almost everyone’s posts here…

    • Jaana says:

Um, Beyonce’ is not overrated. That woman was born to perform on stage. She did give birth, she just wasn’t saying much to the media so the media made their stories up, as usual, and she doesn’t respond to rumors. Beyonce’ is totally loved & respected by her fans with a passion. People are talking yet they know NOTHING about her. Smh

      • Blue says:

Well not everyone is a fan or loves and respects her. Unless you know her personally you don’t know much about her either, other than what you are told. You choose to believe it and others don’t.

  33. Mar says:

They are about 5 years late on this one. They should of gone with Marion Cotillard or someone that is not over exposed for soooooo long. It’s a better choice then Jennifer Lopez- which was a joke

  34. Esther says:

Aren’t people tired of accusing her of taking her pregnancy and sounding completely illogical. I just don’t understand what it is with celebrities when they are discussed logic goes completely out the window and all these irrational dumb ass conspiricacy theories come into play like people don’t sit and think about the outlandish stories they post. This is one of the reason so many celebrities are so closed off and guarded because they have to read stupid crap about them that doesn’t even make sense. I don’t care how much you don’t like this women but it was obvious she was pregnant there is no textbook definition of what a pregnant women should look like just because she didn’t look how you think a pregnant women should look like doesn’t mean she wasn’t pregnant it just so dumb. It’s even more sad that it’s coming from women who have had children themselves you would think they would no better but I guess not.

    • Chatcat says:

Esther….pleeeeeeaaaaaseeee. Not once in my 3 pregnancies did my pillow ever slide, drop, lift, shrink, rearrange to sideways or deflate when I sat down for an on camera interview or the such. Did you happen to check out the video of the interview she did when she was late in her 2nd trimester?
So there was Bey sitting down on the set — and there was her prosthetic baby bump, folding, crumpling and collapsing in full, vibrant high definition!
The look on her face was almost as deflated as the baby pillow that collapsed in half when she sat down. Check it out, along with some other famous pics/live shots of her and her “prego stomach” then come back on here and trash some more of us, oh how did you refer to us, “women who have had children themselves you would think they would no better.” By the way, I do KNOW better.

      • jj says:

but have you seen the pics of her pregnant in a bikini? You can see she is clearly pregnant. Why would she fake a pregnancy? Using a surrogate is nothing shameful…plus if she was going to use a “pillow” (lol seriously come on) she has the money to buy the best kind of “fake pregnancy pillow” out there, not one that would collapse easily.

      • Esther says:

Except she wasn’t wearing a pillow it was her dress that was bunching up and there was another video showing it from a different angle and it was obviously her dress. There were photos of her in a bikini visbily pregnant. You clearly don’t know better if you can’t tell when the fabric of a dress is being crumpled. Like I said in my original comment people lose all logic and reasoning when it comes to celebrities accusations and stupid conspiracy theories like this wouldn’t fly in any other scenario but it’s okay when it comes to celebs it’s quite sad. She was 5 months along when she announced her pregnancy and you proved my point you don’t know any better because you should know every pregnancy is different and every woman looks different and experience pregnancy different. Did tony romos wife fake her pregnancy because all the way till her last month she didnt look pregnant at all.

  35. lafairy says:

Is is for REAL??? The likes of Charlize Theron, Diane Krueger, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard or Halle Berry were not available???
Come on!!! she is pretty, but most beautiful???? huh I see most beautiful than her on the stree on a regular basis and she is as fake as you can get!
People “most beautiful list” is turning into a big disapointment this late couple of years.

  36. Whatever!!! says:

    HaHaHaHaHaHaHa…………..rotfl

    that is all…good day

  37. TheOriginalVictoria says:

Beyonce is a basic bitch once the makeup comes off. But she is the prettiest of the basic bitches they had on that list. Honestly, I’d rather see someone like Naya Rivera (although am I the only one who thinks she looks weird sometimes). I’d rather see Amber Riley of Glee fame who is just gorgeous!

The best line is her attempt to convince us that “she gave birth.” Bitch please. She will never be beautiful to me because her ugliness on the inside is telling.

  38. Navy Blue says:

Not a bad choice but when is Charlize Theron going to get a cover? She looks better than every cover person. I thought maybe she wasn’t famous enough but they put Bradley Cooper on the cover of Sexiest Man Alive. I think publicists buy them. It explains why Julia Roberts has been on the cover so many times.

  39. ok says:

I like beyonce, and I believe she is really beautiful. But I hate when mags do “world’s most beautiful” issues, really it should be “most famous person this year who is beautiful”…like really did they check every corner of this earth, every tiny village searching with a flashlight for the world’s most beautiful lol?

  40. me says:

what, no kardashians on the list?

    lol PMK must be pissed.

  41. Marianne says:

I think Beyonce is beautiful but on the whole I feel meh. I would have thought they would go with someone that also had a really big year.

  42. lower-case deb says:

they should start giving awards to Best Photoshoppers or Worst Photoshoppers or Most-heavy-handed Photoshoppers.

Good lordy lord. Everyone on that cover seems to have been gross victims.

  43. Esther says:

People also really need to stop saying she bleaches her skin it may be shocking to some people but there are a lot of lightskinned black people and during the winter we get pale because we’re not in the sun as much so therefore we look lighter than usual and guess what we get tan in the summer making us darker. It she was bleaching her skin tone would not look that good. I just think people have a probably with her getting the cover because she is a black women there wouldn’t be all these problems if someone like Charlize or Emma stone got the cover. I’m not saying anyone is racist but I do think people have internalized society of what beauty is that when someone who doesn’t fit that mode gets something like this there is a problem. I mean people are trying to find stupid reasons why she shouldn’t have the cover I mean things like her having extension do when the majority of female celebs wear extension and ones that aren’t their natural hair color. Stuff like that is trivial and lame it’s one thing not to find her attractive but it’s another to pick her apart and make outlandish accusations, it makes most of you come across uninformed and ignorant.

    • pj says:

I’ve seen pics and video of beyonce at 6 years old, she is naturally light skinned, so is her mother. Beyonce is african american, native american, and french.

I’ve never heard anyone call beyonce “ugly”…everyone I know thinks she’s beautiful, and even without make-up she is extremely pretty. Beyonce’s heritage hasn’t stopped her from accomplishing many great things with her career, she’s won many awards and sold out arenas around the world…people of all races love her, and if some people don’t like her, it may be for many reasons, and not simply because she’s black…just a thought.

      • almondjoy says:

exactly!!! you beat me to it, just posted the same thing

      • Esther says:

I didn’t say people didn’t like her because she was black nor did I imply it I said people need to quit accusing her of bleaching her skin and other foolishness. I even stated it was fine not to find her attractive but to pick her apart and give lame reasons as to why she shouldn’t have the cover because she has blond extensions and because people wrongly accuse her of bleaching her skin it’s extremely ignorant and unfair. I did say that people internalize societies idea of beauty and it’s the truth someone like beyonce or someone even darker than her wont fit that beauty standard because they don’t look white and that was my point. I never claimed anyone was racist and I don’t think people consciously internalize that idea of beauty it’s just what’s drilled into us and what we see all the time it’s diffcult to see anything else.

      • Esther says:

And this is coming from someone who isn’t a beyonce fan but it gets tiring seeing a people completely trash her and make very bold accusations with no proof to back it up it’s ridiculous.

      • Blue says:

You know French isn’t a race right?

      • pj says:

@ Blue Firstly, yes I know French isn’t a race…I’m going by the make-up commercial she did, where her “ethnicity” is listed for some reason…it was for “true match” make-up.

Secondly, @ Esther, Beyonce is a beauty icon, her beauty is accepted by mainstream media, she does beauty campaigns and commercials for companies. If she was a darker african american, yeah I’m sure the media would treat her differently, that’s a sad fact. Name one female celebrity that doesn’t get picked apart? They all do, regardless of race.

      • Esther says:

She is barely accepted by the mainstream media and a lot of these comment prove it and even certain magazine will photoshop her lighter yes it’s true she is one of the token black women in the media but she is far from truly accepted she’s just seen as less controversial and safe.

      • pj says:

I wouldn’t say she’s “barely” accepted by the mainstream, she is fully accepted in the media. She wouldn’t get all the endorsements then would she? She is all over the TV. I do agree, she may be seen as less controversial and safe but then again she is married to Jay-Z, a well-known rapper who spent his youth selling drugs. Yes Jay-Z himself I believe has a different image then back when he was with Biggie. He has softened up. I do notice that I never see beyonce hanging out with friends. She’s always either alone, with her baby, with Jay-Z or with her mom and sister.

  44. bagladey says:

There’s no disputing that B’s a beautiful woman but I firmly believe that these People covers are now for sale (Jennifer Anniston beat out Angelina for the title and cover once, remember?)and Jay-Z probably bought this for her as another “Blue” gift.

    • Esther says:

People magazine has been this way since they started posting only celeb news or at least the majority is just celeb news. They used to post news about non related celeb issues and even have cover stories other things but they seem to want to compete with the likes of Us weekly and other tabloids to get exclusives do they can make more money. All these list are nothing but PR proganda it goes to the highest bidder.

  45. Nev says:

    meh.

shoulda gave it to Kourtney Kardashian.

  46. Psyren says:

How does Julia Roberts keep making this list?

  47. Rhiley says:

I think it should have gone to Meryl Streep. She just always looks so flawless and she has such great style. Or Angela Davis would have been another great choice. Beyonce can’t dress to save her life (but she is gorgeous). I bet Goopy Poo will start referring to her as “my most beautiful, dear, wonderful, gorgeous, lovely friend, Beyonce…”

  48. almondjoy says:

LOL at people saying she bleaches her skin. I guess none of you Beyonce experts have seen her chilhood pics… because she was clearly the same exact complexion back then. And the whole debate of whether or not she really gave birth is really getting old. She has the baby now. It’s hers.

  49. DeE says:

Talented Beyonce is beautiful and wants to be known as a sex symbol but remembered as an icon. As another commenter stated, Adele’s face catches my attention a bit more…I see character and strength. I am AA, not that it should matter, but my eyes gravitate to Adele more so than hard working Beyonce who did give birth, but isn’t as real as “People” would like us to believe. I do think she is humble though also adept at taking other’s ideas.

  50. reddmasters says:

Beyonce is beyond over rated! There’s hundreds of women more beautiful than she. Even Megan Fox beats her out of this title. Who comes up with this crap?

  51. reddmasters says:

And I am sick of hearing about Beyonce’s “french” heritage. How far back are we going to go to make excuses for these celebrities. Note, I said celebrity and not artist. I’m so over this bitch.

    • pj says:

Her mom is Creole, and French heritage is a huge part of being Creole.

      • TheOriginalVictoria says:

Anyone who believes that there is not enough evidentiary support for those who doubt that chick popped out a child, is not only ignorant but acts as a straight up a wim win for those who seek to control the masses and their critical and logical cognitive skills. Makes me believe that “The Secret Society” and their “agenda” exists more and more everyday.

Beyshamelesss strolling around in a bikini with her greasy post Popeye’s food baby swirling in her stomach, looking way smaller that she did when she performed just eight days beforehand is the first red flag. The shifts in time about when the baby was due from her own mouth, folding bellies, THE PERFECT PREGNANCY..ALL OF IT..is consistent with the way she and her idiotic team try to manipulate and play with her fans and people in general about how easy breezy her life is. And they fail doing in carrying out the plan because they have-collectively-the mental capacity of a five year old. She does not know how to lie and lie well.

As attention whorey as she is, you mean to tell me no tasteful Vogue or Vanity Fair cover with bump protruding proudly showcasing how she has the best pregnant body ever? All the photoshoots done months in advance (beyond the normal scope) and released during the pregnancy. Bitch please. And those fake boobiess he sported like an idiot for herDVD promotion…If it smells like shit, it is. Deal with it.

      • pj says:

but what would be the motive to lie about a pregnancy? Using a surrogate is not a big deal, lots of celebs have used one. I think she was pregnant. If she was faking it, then she would have just lied low for 9 months. Come on, if she was going to use a “pillow” why wouldn’t she have used a good one that wouldn’t “deflate” lol she has the money.

      • autumndaze says:

        @OriginalV

        I am with you.

      • lola8 says:

@TheOriginalVictoria – damn girl, you said it the best. 🙂

      • guest 3 says:

Her mom may have some creole but in America she is still considered a light skinned black woman. Solange has better body and style and people understate her beauty because she looks like her dark-skinned dad. It’s sad that we are still talking about skin color in 2012.
I’m not a Beyonce fan, but I’m thrilled that People magazine finally recognized a woman of color as beautiful.

  52. reddmasters says:

    Done ranting now.

  53. Chatcat says:

Yes Esther we know…according to you anybody who has given birth is a total idiot and should “no better” (your wording) and anybody who doesn’t have your opionion on Beyonce is is a racist. Jeez we get it!
JJ go to youtube and look at the Sunday Night video of the interview or Wendy Williams coverage of the baby bumpgate…besides the myriad of other press that covered it.

    • Esther says:

I didn’t say anything about people being racist or that anyone who had a child is an idiot I said people who think she wasn’t pregnant are ignorant and anyone who believe that stupid rumor about her using a surrogate are ignorant. I’m sorry you lack comprehension skills and can’t understand what I wrote. I also said it was sad that other mothers were saying she couldn’t possibly be pregnant because her pregnancy wasn’t like theirs even though anyone with common sense knows that every pregnancy is different, but you continue to prove my point and you clearly arent aware of it.

      • Chatcat says:

Esther just some paraphrasing of your posts for a moment….“she didn’t look how you think a pregnant women should look like doesn’t mean she wasn’t pregnant it just so dumb. It’s even more sad that it’s coming from women who have had children themselves you would think they would no better but I guess not.”
“I just think people have a probably with her getting the cover because she is a black women there wouldn’t be all these problems if someone like Charlize or Emma stone got the cover.”
        Stupid = idiot…your words
Because she is black = assuming we are all racist …again your words.

Look I don’t care if she is black/white/yellow green with purple polka dots, back to my original post I have a problem with her because I hate cheats and liars and there is nothing to prove to me that she did carry Blue and give birth to her. I don’t care if she used a space ship to “deliver” her to that hospital in NYC, just don’t lie and deceive about it. Wendy Williams had the right of it all along.

      • Esther says:

And I said in that same post that I didn’t think anyone was racist just that they are internalizing what societies idea of beauty is and beyonce doesn’t fit so again you didnt actually read what I wrote because I didn’t imply any of that. And I also said that a lot of women who have had children are making these comments about beyonce not being pregnant sad because they should know better than any one that pregnancy is different and you can’t compare your pregnancy or any other persons pregnancy to hers because you didn’t carry her child. I also didn’t call them dumb I said it was dumb to assume such things no where did I call anyone. But thank you for adding things into my comments they neither wrote not implied the implication was never there I even stated that in my pervious comments.

      • autumndaze says:

        @Esther

Saying that you “don’t think anyone is racist” and then implying that they are, is like when someone says, “I don’t want to offend anyone…” and then they say something incredibly offensive.

      • Esther says:

That isn’t the same thing at all because I didn’t imply it anyone was racist but nice try. I stated what I meant and when someone starts off the sentence I don’t mean to offend its usually followed by something offensive and I did neither of those things. People just can’t seem to comprehend what I wrote because no where did I call anyone racist by saying I don’t think anyone’s racist. When I said that I meant it and even why explained why I don’t think the people who made those comments aren’t racist. I don’t understand why it’s so hard to understand.

  54. debunker says:

Lily Collins and Christina Hendricks are the best-looking of the bunch, though the Lily picture is unflattering because she was probably make-up and thus makes her face look bloated, though she has packed on some weight the last few months.

  55. Jover says:

Cosign with just about everyone – overrated overpaid awful music notice that latest crap cd of hers has conveniently disappeared thanks to baby bump – theoriginalvictoria she’s ugly on the inside because there is no there there – when you’re soulless and have a cash register for a heart and an empty peanut shell for a brain, should we expect anything less – can you imagine how she attempts to interact with this borrowed babe – fakeoncye has the emotional and intellectual maturity of one of those little girls on toddlers and tiara’s. I’m just waiting for the public backlash to all the pr bs. WHen my son’s best friend returns from his tour of duty in the mid-east i’m sure he’ll give a rat’s ass that this congealed pile of emptiness bought herself another meaningless “title.”

  56. ladybert62 says:

I wonder how much she paid for that honor.

    • Kim says:

Exactly. We all know by now this cover isnt granted but purchased like it was with Julia Roberts, J Lo, etc.

  57. Kim says:

She is cute but not beautiful by any means. I like that she said she feels more beautiful than ever after giving birth BUT then she ruins it with her huge ego saying whats great about it is having a legacy. Like that is more important to her that just raising a healthy, happy child!

Her and Jayzee come across as total ego maniacs. I guess thats why they are friends with Kanye.

  58. Violet says:

I think it’s a terrible choice, because someone who’s had extensive cosmetic surgery shouldn’t be held up as the standard for beauty. There are a plenty of gorgeous celebs out there who haven’t been tweaked six ways from Sunday.

Beyonce is an attractive woman, but everything about her is fake. (And I’m not just talking about her pregnancy.)

If you do a quick Google on “Beyonce plastic surgery” you’ll see she’s had major work done — a nose job, breast implants, lip reduction and who knows what else.

And don’t even get me started on her last album cover!

    • Jaquebelle says:

Calling Beyonce out for plastic surgery and fake hair is ridiculous considering MOST of Hollywood have trotted down this very same road. This includes practically every woman who has graced the cover of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful list. While I am not a Beyonce fan in particular, I would much prefer her over women who are two grapes from developing full-blown Anorexia, or the plethora of bottle-blond trollops constantly being thrown in our faces as the “standard” of what is considered beautiful. Last, as a black woman I remain astounded by the ignorance perpetuated as it relates to skin color. While I certainly cannot confirm or deny whether or not Beyonce has lightened her skin, I can state with 100% certainty that the sun’s rays shine down on people of color too. I am the exact shade of Beyonce and my skin tone lightens during the winter months and darkens during the summer. Whether you are a Beyonce fan or not is immaterial to me. But don’t vehemently hate her based on procedures or beauty enhancements nearly every entertainer has experienced. One love.

      • Violet says:

        @Jaquebelle

You must’ve meant to reply to someone else because I didn’t say a word about her hair or skin color. (Incidentally, have you even seen her last album cover? Beyonce pretty much does everything you claim to find appalling — she was photoshopped to look slimmer, plus she’s a bottle-blond and you could argue the outfit she’s wearing makes her look like a trollop.)

Furthermore, I said that there “are a plenty of gorgeous celebs out there who haven’t been tweaked six ways from Sunday” — in other words, all I’m saying is that People magazine should’ve picked someone who hasn’t had as much work done as Beyonce.

    • Jaquebelle says:

Your Words: If you do a quick Google on “Beyonce plastic surgery” you’ll see she’s had major work done — a nose job, breast implants, lip reduction and who knows what else.
      —————————–
While we can argue the voracity of information available on the internet, I feel pretty confident in stating not everything you read online reflects the truth. I formed a conclusion based on my extensive Wikipedia and Google research would get you laughed out of People’s Court, let alone a real court of law.

Your Words: And who knows what else
      ——————————–
The words “what else” can include allegations of bleaching her skin or the heinous crime of weave-wearing. This was MY response to “what else” has Beyonce possibly altered. And if you are spending your time on Google searching for facial inconsistencies of Beyonce, what does this scream regarding the quality of your existence lol.

Your Words: Beyonce pretty much does everything you claim to find appalling — she was photoshopped to look slimmer
      ——————————–
Everything is a matter of degrees and the extreme of this is repugnant. If I can literally count the number of bones of your vertebrae or your legs and thighs are the same size, well you are painfully thin, especially if you are seductively extending this bony leg out for the entire viewing audience to see lol. While photographic editors and Beyonce herself may desire a slimmer frame, Beyonce would never be considered a poster child for anorexia, even at her thinnest. Enhancing a photograph to highlight the positive and downplay flaws is pretty common. You hate Beyonce over this lol. Then you must hate everyone, myself included.

Meanwhile, my point remains. Your justification of your diabolical hatred of Beyonce is based on: (Your Words)”extensive cosmetic surgery” and “everything about her is fake”, as well as “she was photoshopped to look slimmer” seems comical, given that this description could also describe most of Hollywood.

  59. Mich says:

I wish Bey would just end all of this gossip by releasing a Demi Moore style pic of her nine month belly. You know she must have one somewhere. She is always so happy to show off what she’s got that I do find it strange that she allows the speculation to go on and on when she could so easily stop it. Ultimately, little girl Blue is the one who is going to pay the price.

Esther – I saw those Croatia bikini pics and I, sadly, don’t think they are ‘enough’ to stop the rumors.

    • mei says:

yeah but people will just say it’s photoshopped.

      • Mich says:

This is true. I hate the way they have handled this, whatever the ‘real’ story is. I feel so bad about how cruel other children are going to be to that little girl over this.

      • Chatcat says:

I agree…it’s too late to put the genie back in the bottle. I don’t understand why she/they didn’t simply announce that they were using a surrogate or adopting or whatever, she wouldn’t be the first nor the last celebrity to either not be able to have children or not want to disrupte the 11 or so months (let’s face it is a 9+ month process) of their career. I wouldn’t agree but then again I was blessed with three healthy pregnancies and healthy children and nothing, I mean nothing else I have done in my personal or professional life compares to the job of being Mom to them and raising them….so

  60. Chatcat says:

Esther…I don’t know what to say at this point…I quoted your EXACT words from your previous posts. I didn’t add any words at all…that is why they are noted by quotation marks ” “. That would mean I did not “you for adding things into my comments they neither wrote” as you so eloquently stated in your last reply. Whew……

  61. Vera says:

She is beautiful, but I would have preferred someone who did not have plastic surgery. I’m not against plastic surgery overall, but it can send the message to some people (particularly young teen girls) that the only way to be beautiful is to have plastic surgery.

  62. pam says:

I don’t know what Beyonce has done to earn all the hate. She’s not annoying like the Kardashians, and she doesn’t try to seek out publicity all the time. She had a miscarriage and then was able to get pregnant with Blue Ivy. She was definitely pregnant in those bikini pictures. She is talented, she writes, produces, and composes music. She’s a celebrity and all celebs get picked apart, fair enough, but damn it with the pillow bump talk, just seems so riduclous.

If you look at pics of her as a child, she has the exact same face as she has now. I don’t get the plastic surgery rumours at all.

I do understand why some people are a bit annoyed. She’s rich, and her husband is rich. They spend ALOT of money on houses, cars, baby cribs, etc. But hey, that’s what RICH people do.

  63. LOL89 says:

Why are you calling her out though? People have been running up and down this post saying Beyonce is fake and she’s full of self hate and denouncing her natural skin color like she has a personal choice on how she’s photoshopped in magazines. And lbr, black people’s skin changes drastically in summer/winter, lighting, etc, so most people saying she’s lightening her skin are grossly ignorant.

As for her hair texture, including wigs and whatnot, why should Beyonce have to keep hers completely and utterly natural as the day she was born when ALL OF HOLLYWOOD does the same thing?

  64. Sarah says:

LOL @ people claiming Beyonce is average. At the very least she is really pretty.

The hate she gets is ridiculous “omg she wears wigs”, MOST female celebrities regardless of race are wearing weaves/wigs.

  65. Jennifer says:

Reading this post, SMH. i always forget how stupid/racist CB can be sometimes.

    • Mich says:

I don’t think it is just this site that heaps the scorn/hate on her. If you do a google search on “people hate beyonce” tens of thousands of results come back.

Didn’t she say in one interview that they were purposely trying to keep her due date secret/private for safety reasons? That would explain so much of the apparent strangeness everyone has pointed out.

I read another article that said she and her husband are restoring the concept of the family unit in the hip hop world. And they clearly love their daughter to no end. I can find no fault with that!

  66. kenyan-girl says:

*looking at the inset photo of Adele* Adele should’ve been on that cover. Beyonce is gorgeous. But most beautiful??? Nuh-uh!

  67. MorticiansDoItDeader says:

I’m okay with anyone but Rihanna getting it. The more I “hear” from her, the uglier she gets.

  68. mylaylique says:

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” and
    “Beauty is as beauty does”

  69. Skinnybetch says:

Yeah, she sucks and is anything but original. But jay z has some serious $$ & connections, so I’m sure he bought that cover for her.

  70. I Choose Me says:

Stupesssss. Look Beyonce is a talented woman imo and a good looking woman too but Most Beautiful? I don’t think so.

If they wanted to feature a beautiful black woman so many others come to mind but they don’t have Beyonce’s PR. When’s my girl Taraji P Henson gonna get a cover? I have such a mad girl crush on her.

  71. Crystal says:

I like the cover and think that Beyonce looks beautiful.

The vitriol in some of these comments makes me chuckle because the hate for Beyonce is so high that it’s borderline irrational. Why again does she get more crap than other celebs who are far more annoying and exceedingly less talented, e.g., the Kardashian pariahs? And on the opposite end of the hate-love spectrum, there are celebs who inexplicably get praise heaped upon them, despite being whiny, hypocritical d-bags, e.g., Jennifer Aniston. Go figure.

  72. Joline Solander says:

What? This list is bogus. It’s only featuring actors/actresses/singers in Hollywood, they don’t even include entertainers from other countries. Whatever, the most beautiful woman in the world is Aishwarya Rai Bachan, a woman from Bollywood. She beats any of these ladies on the list. And what is the big deal with Lilly Collins? She is okay looking but seriously not a good actress.I heard she is the child of Phil Collins, is that true? If so, I am so tired of all those kids who get an acting/singing career through their famous parents.

  73. MrsNix says:

Beautiful women don’t hire security thugs to separate the other new mothers in the maternity ward from seeing their infant babies. God forbid she actually come into contact with those hideous normal people who gave birth the same time she did.

She’s ugly…and I can’t see her as “beautiful.” Selfish, entitled, and ugly. That’s all she is.

She takes more crap than other celebs because those other talentless and annoying celebrities you’re talking about didn’t hurt anybody. Beyonce and her ridiculous hospital takeover actually destroyed the birth experience for several other new mothers…and she tried to pull the “we didn’t know” card. She didn’t care. That was the problem.

She looks really nice on the outside. Most rich women with publicists and stylists do. But she put how ugly her insides are on display for the whole world when she had that baby (Lord, help that child having such a set of famewhore jerks for parents).

  74. lonie patrice says:

did she bribe someone for that title? i just gotta laugh at this lol…

  75. deserving says:

for the stupid people, defending Beyonce saying “she had same complexion when she was young so she has not bleached her skin!”

Let me tell you a little about how human’s melanin works, right?

Most White babies born with blue eyes with Blonde hair.
But as they’re getting older, most of their hair gets darker, their eye color gets darker.

Same goes to Asian babies (East asians at lease, not South East asians)
Asian babies born with Light brown hair with very fair complexion.
But as they’re getting older, their hair colour turn in to jet black colour and their skintones also get a bit darker.

Beyonce does bleach her skin. It looks like every freaking black celebrities’ skin is getting lighter when they become famous.
LOL. I mean seriously Rihanna Beyonce Nichi Minaj etc

    • pj says:

stupid? really? hmmm ok…she was born light skinned, she gets a bit tan when she’s on vaca or in the summer, but she does not lighten her skin, come on…look at her through the years, she has remained pretty consistent. The proof is in the pudding. Don’t name call, there’s no point in that.

  76. thebutlerdidit says:

I would have rather had Jennifer Hudson, Sofia Verraga, Charlize T, either of the other Destiny gals, and Solange. But, whatever. Beyonce always gets to be the pretty, pretty princess who won the prize.

  77. Jennifer says:

lol at the vague comments about her lighting her skin, hair or how this rubbing people the wrong way just say you are uncomfortable with a black person on the cover.

    • deserving says:

I am uncomfortable with a black person who has tried very hard to meet the European beauty standard on the cover.

That “sexiest person alive” thing has been always featured WHITE people.

And look how miserable Beyonce looks.

She artificially straightened her hair to more look like European, Her hair colour..do i have to say more?

I wouldn’t be uncomfortable if a black woman with her natural hair covered magazine.

Beyonce looks so sad and pathetic.
Her attempt to pursue European Beauty is so sad, and of course she is black, her attempts always fail. LOL
Look at ther piss-yellow blonde hair.
Asians and Blacks, no matter how hard they bleach their hair, they have different melanin in their so they can’t achieve that white people’s natural blonde hair. just gosh, so sad

  78. Floridaseaturtle says:

(how mean am I that I can dislike someone so much?)… smh…

  79. Wisdom101 says:

Blonde wannabe? How can one be beautiful if they are not proud of their own hair and skin??? She is just another arrogant celebrity who hires security thugs to separate the other new mothers in the maternity ward from seeing their infant babies. Can imagine being one of those new mothers who were being humiliated to that degree???

  80. Original Lucy says:

I think Beyonce is beautiful…but don’t like the way they styled her on the cover…

  81. Jonie says:

I will praise the day when someone like Cate Blanchett or Rachel Weisz is on the cover.

  82. ImpC says:

I’m sorry but as an American and human being I find Kate Middleton a beautiful, new face. Yes, she has been around for a bit but I love seeing her getting into the role of the Royal life. Also, as an American, I hope none of that came across offensive. =/

  83. Jaana says:

When will you people understand that light skinned black people color can change?? Especially in the winter when they get paler, and Beyonce is often on vacation baking in the sun so of course her color is gonna change sometimes!!

  84. Lizzie says:

Ewww! There are so many more beautiful women out there. Beyonce is a stuck up bitch and her personality is ugly. She faked a pregnancy and miraculously lost her “baby” weight? What bs. She also has no class – flaunting money when many of us are losing everything. Her nursery is bigger than my house. I retired after 22 years in the Army and couldn’t even survive oon retirement. I took a civilian job with the Army, only to be laid off with hundreds of other people. I was in both Gulf Wars and cannot take care of my 3 children while she throws her $ in our faces? Jennifer Hudson, Reese Witherspoon, or Jennifer Garner would have been much better, classier choices. Guess it’s time to cancel my subscription. BTW, why would you mention race? Women of all nationalities and color are beautiful.

  85. Lizzie says:

Ewww! There are so many more beautiful women out there. Beyonce is a stuck up narcissist and her personality is ugly. She faked a pregnancy and miraculously lost her “baby” weight? What bs. 86. Sugar says:

I’ve said it befor & will say it again…I learn something new on this site all the time like I did not know the star on the HW walk of fame & the cover of people’s most beautiful cover are bought. i’m the ignorant one in this bunch.

  87. tmbg says:

You ever notice an Asian woman never makes the cover? I’d much prefer to see a fresh face (or even one we’ve seen before like Ziyi Zhang) than the same old regurgitated crap.

I’m not Asian and can’t read a lick of Japanese, but I page through Japanese beauty magazines and some of those women are so gorgeous it leaves me speechless. They idolize our stars here, something I do not understand at all.

ETA: And what about exotic women like Aishwarya Rai? They always use names the general public recognizes. I was reading InStyle last night and said out loud, “I am so sick of looking at the same people page after page!” Too bad my subscription was just renewed.

  88. galaxygirl says:

    ugh

  89. Eric says:

They should have gone with Zoe Saldana, she is beautiful and talented.
Why People mag stick this No talent Heffa who faked her pregnancy on their cover.
this will not repair her image, anyone with an IQ over 5 knows that calling her most beautiful in the world is a joke.
She is past her prime, boring, ignorant,
and desperate for attention, and physically far from beautiful, have you seen her elephant trunk legs? I don’t see how this is going to repair the damage she already done to her career, accept frame this awful picture in her bedroom which she doing right now.
I can’t take People mag seriously after they posted this fugly on their cover.

  90. TXCinderella says:

While I think she is very pretty, most beautiful? No. People used to put breathtakingly beautiful people on the cover. Is there no one out there that is worthy of the title anymore? Jennifer Aniston? Please. She’s cute, but not beautiful. They should have chosen Adele instead. She is gorgeous and talented and would be a confirmation that you don’t have to be a size 2 to be considered beautiful.

  91. barb says:

Not even close. They just picked her because she was so hot in the news. They need to pick someone super relevant, or no one will buy the magazine. I’ve always thought that Liv Tyler was incredibly gorgeous and etherically feminie,as well as Uma Thurman. My fave for this year would be Jennifer Garner. I like that’s not all glamorous. Her skin is amazing, and she’s just naturally beautiful.

  92. Merle says:

She got this because she popular now. She is not the most beautiful woman in the world. The most beautiful woman in the world is Aishwarya Rai. Most of the women in Hollywood don’t even compare to her, including Angelina Jolie. And she also had a baby and did not close off an entire hospital ward for herself.

  93. kaley sanders says:

bad choice, sorry but beyonce? after what she did at the hospital?

  94. SmartGirlsAlwaysWinInTheEnd says:

She’s PAYING for PR now…the same way she paid for that “most beautiful” plastic surgery…and the same way Matthew PAID for some of those Grammys…$$$
(Which, BTW, Maxwell was freaking screwed that year.)

If People Magazine weren’t CLEARLY a TABLOID, I wouldve said that this title should’ve been bestowed on Adele, but since Adele doesn’t need the PR push…$$$

Out here in New York, her team is paying The Daily News to put her on their cover as well….$$$

That paper didn’t give two hard craps about Beyonce when she was blowing up…Now, everytime she blinks she’s on the cover of the paper…$$$

  95. Sammy says:

Most beautiful photoshop job yeah, but not most beautiful woman. This crap keeps all you ladies stuck in a matrix of illusion, striving to be like these bought and sold celebs. Beyonce is plain to cute. Her hair is fake and she’s altered her face through surgeries.

Angelina Jolie has had so many facial jobs that the dimple in her chin used to be her belly button. Her tattoos are vile.
I hate her new jaw/chin implant, too Supermanish. Look at photos of these broads when they started out and compare to now. If you can’t see PLASTIC SURGERY all over them, you need to see your eye doc.

  96. Sammy says:

Oh yeah…Jolie’s had so many lip lifts that she can now put the tip of her tongue in her nostrils. There is no space left between her lips and nose. Short philtrums are cute but she’s gone way too far.
